Research funding: $586.1 million in 2007–08

Private support: $216.8 million in 2007–08, including a $100 million philanthropic grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation

Health Care: UC Davis Health System covers 33 counties, 65,000 square miles and 6 million people. Includes a 577-bed acute-care teaching hospital in Sacramento and the region’s only Level 1 trauma center. UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital cares for more than 32,000 small and large animals each year.
