The sum of UC Davis rankings reflects academic breadth and strength, heritage of international engagement, and our commitment to teaching, research and public service. Here is a sampling:

  • 8th in the ranking of U.S. universities based on their contributions to society (Washington Monthly 2007)
  • 10th in research funding among U.S. ranked public universities (National Science Foundation 2006-2007 fiscal year)
  • 12th among public universities nationwide (U.S. News & World Report 2009)
  • 4th among American universities in the number of international scholars (Open Doors 2008 Report on International Educational Exchange)

Research funding: $586.1 million in 2007–08

UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital cares for more than 32,000 small and large animals each year.
